Conium Press is an independent publishing house from Portland, Oregon.
We publish a biannual literary journal entitled The Conium Review. The journal is print-only. Issues vary in length from around 90 to 250 pages—we don't use a strict page-count quota, because we always want to find a place for the very best material from our submission queue. The journal is highly selective, only publishing a small percentage of submissions, but we base our selections on literary craft rather than preconceptions about genre, contemporary style, or publishable word count.
Along with the journal, we publish one printed book of poetry or fiction each year. Book-length manuscripts are often solicited from past contributors and other writers whose work we admire. We also publish occasional e-books for the Kindle or Nook.
We also host a literary podcast, and we publish reviews, interviews, and other editorial articles on our website.
